Community Support Worker - Adult and Community Services Non-Union | 28 hours weekly
The position of part-time Community Support Worker is responsible for providing support to individuals with a developmental disability in the community. The position provides stimulating recreational support, in a variety of locations, to enable the achievement of individual potential while appropriately mitigating risk. The position provides individuals with supports through increased community involvement opportunities for stimulating and meaningful activities.
2 year College Diploma in a related field (BST, CYW, DSW)
1 year practical experience with individuals who have a developmental/intellectual disability preferred
Knowledge and understanding of the needs and best practice service standards for persons with developmental disabilities
Good problem solving skills
CPI, CPR and First Aid training
Good oral and written communication skills
Valid Ontario drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
