 Community Support Workers (part-time contract – minimum 21 hrs/wk)

 

The Community Support Worker is responsible for participating in client program planning and program implementation and assisting in the pursuit of opportunities for community inclusion and participation. • College Diploma in a related field (BST, CYW, DSW)
• 1 year practical experience with individuals who have a developmental/intellectual disability in a community setting
• Good interpersonal skills, personal maturity and the ability to be a positive role model
• CPR and First Aid training
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle

We are currently seeking a family who is interested in opening their home and providing a supportive family environment to an individual who is in her 50’s and has had support from her family which has allowed her to enjoy independence.  She is a sociable woman, seeking the warmth and emotional stability which comes from family life.  She is looking for guidance and support to gain further independence and continue to enjoy an active role in family and community life.
 
This individual is involved with Career Services full-time, which is of great value to her, and wishes to remain in the Brockville area to maintain her family and employment connections.
